what do you guys use to split costs on a group trip without it becoming a nightmare?

95% match
planning a trip with a few friends soon and I already know the money part is gonna be a disaster lol. last time someone booked the place in euros, someone paid for the rental car in a different currency, I covered a bunch of meals, and by the end none of us had any idea who owed who. ended up just doing the awkward "eh let's call it even" thing which… wasn't even. trying to do it better this time. for those who travel in groups a lot: do you just split everything evenly and not stress the small stuff? one person fronts everything and you settle up after? some app that actually handles different currencies? I've tried splitwise before but the currency conversion always confused me and I'd stop logging stuff halfway through. recently been using one called monira app that scans the receipt instead of making me type each one, which is the first time I actually kept up with it the whole trip. but genuinely want to know what's worked for people here before this trip. Update: I ended up trying Monira app and it's been great for group trips. It handles group and personal expenses, supports multiple currencies, and lets you scan or upload receipts instead of typing everything manually. Much easier to keep track of who owes what

Seeking for feedback: Splitwise Alternative

I am aware that splitting bills apps are crowded in the space. I have tried Splitwise, Tricount, SplitD , none of them fulfils all my needs But i still cant find one that fits all of my needs unlimited expense recordings: Splitwise not giving this simplify debt: Tricount doesn’t have it, but not the other apps — non negotiable for me tracking expenses while splitting bills: Splitwise doesnt have that ad-free: yea every apps had it simplification debt with breakdown expenses on the calculations: no apps has that — to answer my friend’s questions on “how come i owe this person money?” So i spent around six months time to build my own production ready (means it is data secured, security did with RLS and so forth ) Would you guys try the app actually? Note: I am trying to sell my app but if it manage to solve your problem, i would be more than happy! I am here to validate my ideas, the app had been up for quite some time, i have tested so may times to make sure it is production ready. So i am here to reach out more people to help me see if with this app i can solve more same problems you guys are facing.

I can't find Splitwise alternative that suits my needs

95% match
Hi all, the problem is that I just cannot find a Splitwise alternative for iOS. I need a really simple app just to split payments with my roommate. 2 person group only. What I miss in most apps is that I want to have a "balance" on the same card I see the expenses - just like in Splitwise. Clean UI, straightforward adding expenses, no AI bs. I tried Tricount, Splid and many others and most of the stuff is just overcomplicated and with balance on other page or card. Is there anything on iOS you can recommend?

Recommendations for Splitwise alternative

My partner and I have been using Splitwise for shared expenses for a few years now and I’ve had no complaints. I went to add monthly expenses today though and after adding three, it told me I had hit my maximum for the day and would have to pay to upgrade. I guess they are really cracking down on free usage of the app! I’m really not looking to spend $40 each for a yearly subscription, so with that in mind, does anyone use a similar app to split expenses that they like and is free??

Evenfy/Splitwise (cost splitting) alternative?

90% match
My girlfriend and I live together and due to our different incomes we use Evenfy to track whether one of us has „actual“ debt. However the app is shutting down in March and we have to look for alternatives. The obvious one is Splitwise, however since that is US stuff, I was wondering whether there is something useful from EU on that front. I found a small app called splitfix, however it seems so small that it could also shutdown soon as well. Any other ideas?

Recommended alternatives for Splitwise

Hello Everyone, I am looking for an app that I can use for tracking my expenses and spli them among the group with which I will be travelling. I found Splitwise to be apt for my use cases. I was looking for recommendations for apps made in EU. I do not really need any bank import export features. Simple manual entry of transactions is enough for me. Storing images of receipts would be a bonus. Paid apps are also fine. Thanks.

Are there any alternatives to Splitwise?

Basically the title, I only use the free version so I'm looking for something with similar features that is also free. Are there any EU alternatives for me to consider?

How do you guys handle splitting expenses with friends in Pakistan?

55% match
I’ve been noticing something and wanted to get real opinions. Whenever we go out with friends (food, trips, hostel life, etc.), splitting money always gets messy. Usually one person pays, then everyone says “I’ll send later”… and then it becomes awkward to remind people or track who paid what. In most cases, we either: just keep rough notes in WhatsApp try to remember it (and mess up) or ignore small amounts completely The bigger issue is that payments aren’t consistent: some people pay cash some send via Easypaisa/JazzCash some partially pay So things get confusing very quickly. I know there are apps out there, but honestly most people here don’t want to download another app or go through signups just to split a bill. So I wanted to ask: How do you personally handle shared expenses? What’s the most annoying part about it? Have you ever tried using an app for this, or do you prefer informal methods? Genuinely curious to hear how people deal with this in real life.

Meet TripSplit — the smarter, simpler way to split travel expenses. Planning trips should feel exciting, not stressful. But somewhere between dinners, taxis, hotel splits, and random coffees, money conversations get awkward… and messy. That’s exactly why I built TripSplit. 💸 100% FREE — no hidden fees, no premium locks, no nonsense. While other apps slowly put features behind paywalls, TripSplit keeps everything open — because splitting expenses shouldn’t cost you extra. 🌍 Built for travelers, not just bill splitters Whether you’re backpacking across Europe, doing a Goa trip with friends, or managing group expenses on a long vacation — TripSplit is designed for real travel chaos. Simple, fast, no friction Add expenses in seconds. Split instantly. Know exactly who owes whom — without overthinking. 🤝 No awkward money moments TripSplit handles the math so your friendships stay intact. 🔥 A true alternative to Splitwise If you’ve ever felt limited by paid features or complexity — this is your upgrade. I didn’t build this as a company. I built it as a traveler who got tired of the same problem on every trip. And the best part? It’s already live for everyone. 👉 Try it now: tripsplit.online Also, I have launched mobile app on android that can be downloaded for free without any ads or paid plans. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devgolani.mobile Because travel memories should be about people and places — not pending payments.
