I'm quitting oura ring 4

92% match
Is anyone else dealing with this or is it just me? For the past 2–3 weeks, my sleep data has been either delayed or completely missing. Today it’s 5 PM and the app is still stuck on “Waiting for your sleep data…” like nothing happened. This isn’t a one-off bug anymore — this is a pattern. I’ve tried syncing, reopening the app, waiting… nothing fixes it. And honestly, what’s the point of a sleep tracking device if it can’t consistently track sleep? At this point: Data is delayed for hours (sometimes half the day) Sometimes it doesn’t show at all The app just sits there doing nothing For something I’m paying a subscription for, this is just not acceptable. I bought this specifically for sleep tracking — not to guess how I slept yesterday. Seriously considering switching. Has anyone found a more reliable alternative?

[Question] For analog watch users - How do you track your health ?

91% match
Recently when talking to my friends, I found out something interesting. Most of them use analog watches all the time, because of the look or feel, or someone close to them gifted the watch. But they also use a separate watch (basically a smart watch or a band) to track their health and fitness. Soo, I was wondering how others deal with this compromise between style and health??!! If you mostly wear analog watch, Do you track your health? (like steps, heart rate, sleep etc) If yesss, how do you do it? Using a separate smart watch or band, phone app, or something else?? And if you don't, well, is it because you don't care about health tracking? Or you didn't find a device that matches your style? I love to wear analog watches, but I also want to track my health. I'm curious if other analog watch users feel the same waayy! Would love to hear your thoughts or experiences!

Robust HRV tracking without display?

91% match
Hello all, I've been reading along for a while but I need your advice and swarm intelligence. I am looking for a good setup for tracking HRV. Mainly I want to do this to learn more about my body and the condition of my system. I used to have a Whoop strap a few years ago but was not so happy with it. The values (sleep, recovery) didn't seem to match my perceived reality (I know, that doesn't have to mean anything). I now know that wristband devices have a systematic problem with tracking ( Why Watches and Wrist HR Monitors Usually Don't Work For HRV - Elite HRV Knowledge Base) and of course chest-straps or biceps-straps may be better. Basically, though, I liked the minimalist design of whoop, even if I didn't love the subscription model. I'm ok with wearing the device every day, either all day or at consistent times for tracking (to spot trends). I would prefer a continuous variant though I don't want a smartwatch and if possible a device with a large display. Ideally no display at all (for robustness and distraction). A display feels more like a responsibility than a bonus. I don't need to track my entire life, but I would like to be able to measure my HRV regularly and qualitatively and derive trends. Sleep tracking would be a plus Since I learned that tracking on the wrist is controversial anyway, other options would be conceivable (e.g. ring, bicep-strap, etc.) I would hate to wear a chest-strap, even if that would be super accurate. I know there is competition to whoop. E.g. Cardiomood which should meet many of my requirements, however the whole website and presentation gives me a sketchy vibe and I don't know how long it will be around. looks pretty dead to me. My latest idea was to get a separate tracker (e.g. Scosche Rhythm) and a matching app (EliteHRV? Athlytics?). I have read about EliteHRV and Scosche Rhythm24 for example, however I can't assess how good that whole setup is, if it will last long term (Scosche device seems to not hold very long?) and measure reliably I guess my requirements are not unusual (rugged, low profile, decent tracking, long lasting) but I can't seem to find any products that meet my requirements. How are you guys doing it? What options do you guys see? Any experiences, recommendations? Thanks for taking the time to answer and providing some guidance to a newbie

Looking for a WHOOP alternative that provides raw sensor data without a subscription

90% match
I’ve been using WHOOP for years, but I’m thinking about switching. The subscription is getting overpriced, and the fact that the new device is incompatible with older accessories is pretty frustrating. While researching alternatives, I realized that these devices are basically wearable sensor hubs. I’m comfortable doing the data analysis on my own side, so I don’t really see a good reason to keep paying a subscription for hardware I already purchased. Does anyone know of a wearable device that simply gives access to the sensor data, ideally raw or close-to-raw data, without requiring a subscription? I’m mainly looking for something that can track things like heart rate, HRV, sleep, recovery-related metrics, motion/activity data, etc., but I’m fine handling the analysis myself if the hardware gives me access to the data.

Are there any good WHOOP alternatives that don’t require a subscription?

90% match
My WHOOP annual subscription is ending in about two weeks, and I most likely won’t be renewing. I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for alternatives that are more affordable or don’t require a subscription. I’ve heard about the Amazfit Helio Strap Fitness Tracker Wristband, and it seems to have mostly positive reviews. Has anyone tried it or have experience with it? I’d also love to hear about any other options you’d recommend. Thanks in advance!

[Question] What if your fav analog watch could track your health too?

90% match
After talking to people about how they manage style with health (analog watches and health tracking), I understood something. It’s not that people don’t care about health, they want to be aware of their health but they don’t want to wear a bulky gadget that distracts all the time. Many feel that those data and metrics provided by the wearables are not accurate and that they’re just numbers and no awareness. Plus some of them said that it’s so distracting to see all the notifications popping up on the wrist.. So I just got a thought that what if there is some way to keep the analog watch and still track your health? (I don’t say about smart rings or other bands which are currently in market) It’s like tracking your health quietly in background, without any screen or remainders? So maybe something like a small disc attached to back of your analog watch and then the data will be shown on your phone through some app. And some emergency alerts to others if abnormal heart rate is detected through that disc. Would you think something like that will be useful?! You can wear your fav analog watch all day, and still get health metrics tracked. What do you guys think?

I was set on Oura Ring 4, but now I’m second guessing after seeing posts here

89% match
I’ve been considering an Oura Ring for a long time. I’ve used an Apple Watch since the Series 2 and currently have the Ultra, but since having my baby 6 months ago, I don’t sleep with it on anymore. The bulkiness at night is starting to bother me, so the ring seems like a nice alternative. However, I’ve been reading posts here and I’m seeing a lot of concerns about battery life, unclear stress metrics, and the constant notifications about strain or “stress scores.” I can see how that might make someone more anxious rather than help. I told my boyfriend I wanted the Oura Ring 4, but now I’m hesitant to spend the money (plus subscription) if it’s going to add stress. If you were worried about these same things but ended up loving your ring, or if you bought one and regretted it, I’d love to hear your experience. Edit (9hr after post) - thank you for all the replies, I’ve enjoyed reading user input! Another question, do y’all purchase the device protection? If so 2 year?

Whoop alternative?

88% match
I'm 4+ years on whoop, I've a garmin vivoactive 5 for everyday use, a polar h10 for the gym and ideally I'm looking for a wearable that doesn't cost €30 a month. I'm open to a new watch but unsure of which one to get. I'm just not sure Whoop is worth it, like I'm still on the 4.0 because I didn't want to continue paying €360 annually. Is there something better out there? I'm ready to part ways with Whoop

Oura ring gen 3 vs gen 4 or wait for gen 5 or try new brand?

87% match
Oura sent me a new gen 3 due to battery issues of my current one. My complaint is the battery issues arose almost exactly 2 years to the date of purchase. My gen 2 ring also died exactly 2 years from purchase. It’s clearly a quality control issue as I’ve seen similar post here about it. I like the concept of a ring, enjoy the tracking, the look. I’ve seen some complaints here about gen 4 so I’m not sure if I want to buy an upgrade now… do I keep the gen 3… sell it for Gen 4 or wait for gen5 or look at alternative brands?? Just asking for opinions here. Thank you!

New Oura Ring vs Alternatives

85% match
Well, I’m a dude with big sausage fingers. Oura Ring 5 may be the first Oura Ring generation I have to skip. Maybe all future ones too? The description for the new one is “dainty & elegant”. I doubt that will work for my man hands. Any suggestions if I have to switch to a new brand? I’ll keep my Gen 4 for a while, but doesn’t seem like they care to keep their male customers around 🤷‍♂️.
