Wise problems, what alternatives?

95% match
As some of you already may be aware of, it seems Wise (formerly Transferwise) is freezing transfers of long term customers, freezing credit cards, blocking accounts etc and then asks for a multitude of proof documents lately. Some report ending up in an endless limbo where their funds are frozen, transfers not going out and they fall behind on paying their rent as an expat for example. So long story short, can someone recommend good alternatives to wise?

Payment Platforms: What Works for Kenyans to Send & Receive Money Globally?

93% match
Hi everyone — I’m looking to understand which online payment platforms are currently most effective for Kenyans to both receive international payments (from clients, freelance work, etc.) and send money abroad (or to other users). With Mpesa functionality and perhaps a virtual debit card. I know of Wise (formerly TransferWise), but I’ve heard that they aren't fully operational in Kenya for new accounts So, I’m curious — what platforms are you using (or recommending) right now? Asante

Better alternatives to Wise?

90% match
Is there any other platforms that allow for holding of different currencies and spending with a Visa card overseas? I got banned from wise hence why im asking for alternatives. I did some p2p for USD without knowing that their T&C changed to be anti crypto and they closed my account. Hence im looking for alternatives now.

Best wise alternative ?! (i will not promote)

90% match
Wise just froze our business account out of nowhere, zero warning zero explanation. We have payroll running in 6 days and suppliers to pay across 3 countries. Support is useless, just copy paste replies about "compliance review 7-10 days". What are you guys using instead? Need something reliable for multi country ops, we are around 40 people. Scared to move to another fintech and have the same thing happen again.

Sending money from a European country to Nigeria?

90% match
Hello everyone, I hope you all have a beautiful day! I just wanted to ask, what is the best way to send money to Nigeria from a European country? My definition for "best" is: Keep as much money as possible. Safe (we won't get scummed or lose the money). Accessible by a 19-year-old Nigerian (I know that you must be 20 years old to open a bank account in Nigeria), without a lot of trouble and difficulty. Legal. The way I did for now, is buying a Steam card and, the person from Nigeria exchanges it for money. However, there are fees of 2€ (at least, for the 20€ steam card) and there is also the transportation cast of 1K NGN Niaras. I want to send a considerable amount so, I thought to ask if you guys know another better way to do so... Thanks a lot in advance!

Problems with WorldRemit

90% match
Hi all
Syrian expat living in the US here. My cousin is living in Nigeria and he asked for some financial help. He recommended WorldRemit and said it could transfer to his bank but it gave me an error and said "this payout method is unavailable". Any US-based alternatives you can recommend?

Cheapest (and ethical) means to send money to Kenya.

90% match
The title sums it all. Besides WorldRemit and other similar money transfer apps, what is the cheapest alternative, to send money from abroad? I am not keen on how long the transaction takes to complete, or the maximum amount one can send, my focus is on the transfer fee.
