Digital Playbook

My husband is part of a football league and manually draws plays and puts them into a wrist sleeve he has (forgive me if I use wrong terms here lol). I’ve noticed it’s very difficult for him to change his plays during the game - I set them up for him in the beginning because I have smaller fingers. I was wondering if there was anything more convenient in the market? Maybe something electronic? I mentioned his Apple Watch but he said it’s too small.

11 on 11 Flag Football Playbook? (for girls powderpuff game)
85% match
Hello everyone! Just wanted to see if anyone had a playbook or some advice for 11 on 11 flag football. For the next month or so, I will be coaching the junior girls at my local high school for the annual Powderpuff game. I have experience playing high school football, and playing/coaching youth 5v5 flag football, but 11 on 11 flag is a whole new ball game for me. Any tips or advice? Thank you!

Is there a digital football playbook that allows coaches to draw up plays and then share that content on the platform to their team? I was thinking to myself that this has to exist, and after searching, I wasn’t sure if I found anything specifically dedicated to football. It seems like a lot of people are using software that is intended for other problems or more general use. I’m an engineer and was just thinking of ideas that might be worth exploring.

Can ProCreate be used to make a football playbook?

I need to make a playbook for my youth football organization to be shared with other coaches. I have nice PDF templates of the formations. I would like to be able to use ProCreate to load the formations PDFs and then draw on them the different routes and whatnot to make the different plays. Can ProCreate do that? Thanks!

Hello everyone, my nephew (11) is in a community football league (6th grade) and my dad is the head coach for his team. I was recently asked if I could help with organizing and re-designing their football playbooks, so here I am asking for some advice. I don’t need to devise plays or do anything technical with the actual sporting strategy here — my dad and the other coaches are the ones who have made their formations and plays, etc. I just need to figure out the best way to put together the info that will be useful for the kids and the coaches, and would appreciate some advice from other coaches or former players as to what has worked best for them, especially because I’m a woman so I’ve never played the sport and don’t really have any understanding of it beyond a casual fan, let alone on a coaching level. Specifically, I’m trying to figure out the best answer to these questions: — Should I be making these books in different variations for offensive line and defensive lines, position or player specific, or keep them all identical? The kids are still fairly young, only just starting tackle, and with a mix of football experience, so the goal is to try to keep information simple and easy to understand, but enough to start actually building a fundamental understanding of the game. I’m planning on keeping all of the same information in every book, but not sure if it’s a better idea to keep the order the same, or move it by priority based on that player’s positions. — Generally to keep it orderly, I’m thinking of keeping the actual playbook portion organized in order of Personnel, Formation, Plays, and working w/ the coaches to make sure everything follows a simple system, so that the kids are learning the concepts and its easier to be able to add variation or complexity from building up rather than bulk memorization. — Other things outside of the actual plays I was thinking should be included for them is an index lol, the roster, position responsibilities, key phrases, snap counts, calls, hand signals, etc. Will probably also add their game schedule and a directory for coaches/parents. If I really get some extra time I’ll make little player cards for them to personalize it. Anything else that should be included, or anything that should be re-organized or cut out to keep things simple? I’m trying to figure out what will work best for them that will be understandable, a good reference, but not overloaded with information. Thank you in advance for any advice/help, I greatly appreciate it!!! It’s a bit out of my comfort zone, but I want to make sure it’s done well and can be a good resource for them.

What are some good 3 man route concepts for youth football?

Wondering what are some of your favorite 3 man route concepts involving 2 slot backs and 1 wide out. Looking to add about six to my playbook for the spread offense. Age 13-14 youth.

Coaches, I'm interested in your thoughts on a couple flag football plays...
55% match
Here are a few example plays that I've created for my 5th grade indoor flag football team. It's a 6 on 6 league. Pass only, no rushing the QB, 5 second play clock. I have them printed on wristbands. There are 9 plays total. I've been calling out a number (the play) and letter (the receiver to look for). The plays often go beyond the initial routes, the kids run around and try to get open. I've asked a couple friends that are coaches and they haven't had many concerns. I'm counting on internet strangers / fellow coaches to provide a more unfiltered review.

Making my first youth playbook... how simple/complex should a middle school offense be?
55% match
I've done work with youth 5/6th grade and those offenses were pretty barebones, but outside of that I've only worked with college teams and obviously those get quite intensive. How much could a 7/8th grade playbook contain? I know it'd be case to case in every situation but I'm just wondering A) Can a route tree be more than just the basic 9 B) how many blocking schemes can I teach? Stick two 2ish or could I get to 3-5? C) Approximately how many formations is good, and then how many plays? In any case I'd start small and grow out into the season, but just curious what a good starting/end number would be for each.
