Point a Manus Cue Connector for Reddit Monitoring at a Read-Only Brief

Cue, the personal agent app Manus launched on 28 September 2026, has no Reddit integration of its own, so a Manus Cue connector for Reddit monitoring is one you add yourself. Manus calls it a custom MCP connector. You point it at a server that already watches Reddit, and the agent reads what that server found.

The short version: add RedReplier's MCP server at https://mcp.redreplier.com/mcp with a redreplier_ Bearer token, tell the agent it reads mentions and does nothing else, and give the token an expiry date. As of 29 September 2026 Manus documents no approval step inside Cue, so your brief and your token are the only controls you hold.

What is Cue, and what does Manus mean by a connector?

Cue is a standalone app from Manus for personal agents, released on 28 September 2026 alongside Manus 2.0 and "built on the same infrastructure as Manus." Access is invite-only and free during early access: the code MEETCUE works for a limited number of users, first come, first served. Manus lists web, desktop and mobile, with iOS waiting on App Store review.

A connector, in Manus's words, is "a user-centric integration layer that enables Manus to securely access your third-party data and APIs (including MCP servers)." Manus documents a custom API connector and a custom MCP connector. The MCP kind fits here, because RedReplier runs a hosted MCP server that returns scored Reddit mentions.

What separates Cue from the agents in our earlier series is identity. Manus gives each Cue agent "its own email, phone number, wallet, and computer." A Reddit monitor on Cue reads and reports from an agent that also sends email and texts under its own name, which is why this guide spends more words on the brief than on the configuration.

Where do I add the RedReplier MCP server?

Manus documents one place to add a custom MCP server: Settings, then Integrations, then Custom MCP Servers, then Add Server. The form takes a server name, an HTTPS URL, and credentials, which Manus lists as "API key, Bearer token, or other credentials required." Manus then says it "will verify it can communicate with your server and retrieve the list of available tools."

As of 29 September 2026 Manus has not documented a connector screen inside Cue, or whether a connector added in Manus appears in Cue. So add the server in Manus, where the form is documented, then open Cue and ask the agent to list your RedReplier monitored websites. If it answers with your sites, the connector carried over.

If it does not, ask the Cue agent in chat to add RedReplier as a custom MCP connector with the URL above. That route runs through conversation rather than a documented menu. Manus redacts "sensitive information like API keys" in shared sessions, but publishes nothing on how Cue stores a credential typed into a chat, so use a short-lived token there.

RedReplier's MCP server also accepts OAuth sign-in, but Manus's form lists API keys and Bearer tokens, so this guide uses the Bearer header.

Which RedReplier token does Cue need?

Cue needs a RedReplier token created under the Editor role with an expiration date, at redreplier.com/api-tokens. Every token starts with redreplier_. The RedReplier API checks one permission, redreplier.write, on all 22 of its operations, reads included, so a Viewer key gets a 403 with code: permission_denied on GET /mentions too.

As of 29 September 2026, then, no RedReplier key is read-only. The key that lists mentions also rejects them and deletes keywords, which is why the brief carries the weight here. The expiry is the backstop: a token that dies in 30 days caps how long a misbehaving agent keeps access. Revoking stops every call at once, and the dialog says so: "Apps using it lose access; this can't be undone."

Give each Cue agent its own token. RedReplier counts rate limits per key, and the tokens table shows a last-used time for each one.

What does the first Reddit check look like?

The first Reddit check is one read of new mentions sorted by relevance, and nothing more. RedReplier splits Reddit into REDDIT_POST and REDDIT_COMMENT, and the comment threads are where people ask each other what to buy. Paste this into Cue as the agent's standing brief:

list_mentions takes the same filters as GET /mentions in the REST API. The 24-hour window filters on ingestedAt, the time RedReplier found the thread, so an older thread found this morning still makes the digest.

explain_mention is the one allowed tool that writes. It fills in relevanceReason, tags and aiReplySuggestion when they are missing and changes no mention status. An agent told "read only" with no exception skips it and hands you bare numbers.

Which RedReplier calls change state?

Eleven of RedReplier's 22 operations change state, and PATCH /mentions/{id}/status is the one that hides its own mistakes. A rejected mention leaves the NEW list, so a thread the agent misjudged never reaches you. The eleven, checked against the live spec on 29 September 2026:

The spec says activate-pending never charges; keywords beyond the plan stay PENDING until someone upgrades in the RedReplier app. update_website looks harmless until you read that the website description "feeds mention scoring."

Manus has published no approval gate for Cue. Runtimewire noted on 28 September 2026 that the announcement "does not explain in detail how users approve individual transactions, restrict what agents can do with their email or phone identity, or review actions after they occur." Until Cue documents more, the allowed list in your brief is the gate.

Why does an agent with its own email and phone change Reddit monitoring?

A Cue agent with its own email address and phone number can act on what it reads without passing through you, and Reddit monitoring hands it a daily list of strangers. RedReplier never publishes anything: the API has no endpoint that posts a reply, and the spec calls aiReplySuggestion a "draft reply for a human to review before posting." The risk sits in the agent's own outbox.

Here is the failure. A Reddit user asks for a tool like yours and links their company site. The agent finds a contact address there and emails them the draft from its own address. Nothing in the connector stops it, because the email never touches RedReplier. Can Cue check Reddit on a schedule?

Manus documents scheduling for Manus, not for Cue, and as of 29 September 2026 no Manus source says whether a Cue agent runs a task on a timer. Manus 2.0 Automations come in three types, Schedule, Triggered task and Advanced automation in beta, with triggers that include Gmail, RSS and webhooks.

Test Cue first. Ask the agent to run the check at 8:00 each morning and see whether a digest arrives tomorrow without a prompt. If nothing arrives, run the schedule from Manus, which is documented. A triggered Manus Automation works too: RedReplier sends email alerts at the cadence GET /alert-settings reports, and an Automation that fires on a new Gmail message turns each alert into a task.

What breaks in the first week?

Error codes name most first-week failures. A 403 with permission_denied means the token's role lacks redreplier.write, so recreate it as Editor. A 403 with subscription_required means the plan lacks API access. A 401 means the token is missing, expired or revoked, and token_issuer_lost_access means its creator left the workspace.

The quiet failure is order. Name sort=RELEVANCE in the brief, or a busy morning arrives in whatever order the API returns. Rate limits count per key, and a looping agent gets a 429 with a Retry-After header.

Is Cue the same product as Manus?
